The 2015 Koenigsegg One: 1 was launched in the Geneva Auto Show. This supercar contains a well-balanced ratio of 1:1 between its horsepower and weight, consequently its name. The streamlined model of this supercar, tagged “World’s first mega car”, will include a group of latest and revolutionary features which are anticipated to glue the automobile to the ground. Included in this are the usage of new technologies like the track enhanced zero-winglets mounted on its front bumpers, a Le Mans-inspired active wing settings at its rear, side splitters and expanded venture channels, as well as an enhanced active under-trim air management.
The 2015 Koenigsegg One: 1 can be obtained with rear Triplex suspension, carbon bevel springs as well as active-shock absorbers. Its suspension package incorporates: active ride height, shock absorbing and variable stiffness spring ratios. Its carbon framework and general body work is 20% lighter as M46J and M55J high modulus fibre materials have been used.
Its brakes (both rear and front) have been implemented from the Agera R. Its structure is an ordinary carbon ceramic with 6-piston callipers with 2 at the front and 4 at its rear. Its traction control is existing with five diverse modes of handling and it boasts a weight distribution of 44% front and 56% at its back which is comparable to that of the Agera R.
It is also available with personalized Michelin cup tires, which are tailored to each corner and will measure 256/35–R19 for its front tires and 345/30–R20 for the rearmost ones. The wheels are particularly made from carbon fibre and will also include a separate design than the one utilized before by this Swedish car manufacturer.
The Internal part has been somewhat revised and more-less looks like the arena of any racing car, with no luxury functions. Designers have used weight-saving material, regularly Alcantara and carbon fibre.
Its engine design is like that of the Agera R, but it has a few improvements and generates more power. This power unit is a 5.0l V8 engine that includes an improved boost pressure from the Agera R’s 1.4 to a new 1.8 bars and dual turbochargers. The powertrain can create up to 1340 hp and 1101 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a twin-clutch 7-speed transmission that transmits the power generated to the back wheels.
The 2015 Koenigsegg One: 1 consumes lesser fuel and utilizes the E85 bio-fuel, ordinary petrol or the race-fuel. The Swedish car manufacturer has not yet tested the car on the 0-60 mph, but has tested it on the 0-250 mph, in which the car excellently picks in just 20 secs.
It also contains a drag coefficient of about 0.445-0.50. This is greatly dependent on the flexible wing at its back. The One: 1 is also capable of producing as much down force as the Agera R. Moving at 260 km/h this exotic car yields a 610 kg down-force, while at an acceleration of 440 km/h the down force mounted increased to 830 kg.
Launched at the Geneva Auto Show in March 2014, only 6 units of the 2015 Koenigsegg One:1 were presented, and according to them, they have all been sold out. The automaker did not want to disclose its cost, but the rumour is that the price tag is around $2.86 million in the U.S and €2.1 million in Europe. Too costly, if you ask me.
